Narrative synthesis is included in every systematic review. Meta-analysis (quantitative pooling of results with forest plots, heterogeneity assessment, and publication bias testing) is available as an add-on or through our dedicated Meta-Analysis Service. Not every systematic review requires meta-analysis. If the included studies are too heterogeneous in design, population, or outcome measurement, narrative synthesis is the appropriate approach.
