Dissertations & Proposals
ScribeLabWriter's PhD methodologists help you select the right research design, justify it with citations from established methodology texts (Creswell and Creswell, 2023; Creswell and Plano Clark, 2018; Bryman, 2016), develop your sampling and recruitment strategy, design your data collection instruments, write your data analysis plan, and address ethical considerations including IRB or ethics board requirements.
We do not choose a methodology for you. We help you understand the options, make an informed decision, and write a methodology chapter that your committee will approve.
| Approach | Designs | Analysis Methods | Software |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative | Survey, experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, causal-comparative | Regression, ANOVA, t-tests, chi-square, factor analysis, SEM, path analysis | SPSS, R, Stata |
| Qualitative | Phenomenology, grounded theory, case study, ethnography, narrative inquiry | Thematic analysis, IPA, constant comparative, content analysis | NVivo, MAXQDA |
| Mixed Methods | Convergent parallel, explanatory sequential, exploratory sequential, embedded | Both quantitative and qualitative, with integration at the interpretation stage | SPSS/R + NVivo/MAXQDA |
This depends on your research questions. If you are measuring relationships, testing hypotheses, or comparing groups, quantitative is appropriate. If you are exploring experiences, meanings, or processes, qualitative is appropriate. If you need both measurement and exploration, mixed methods may be the best fit. Our published guide on choosing between qualitative and quantitative research covers this decision in detail.
We help you write the ethics section of your methodology chapter, prepare your IRB application narrative, and develop informed consent forms. We do not submit the application on your behalf (that must come from the student), but we ensure the documentation is complete and addresses the ethical requirements your committee expects.
We cite established methodology texts including Creswell and Creswell (2023) for research design, Creswell and Plano Clark (2018) for mixed methods, Braun and Clarke (2006, 2022) for thematic analysis, and discipline-specific methodology references appropriate to your field.
