Christine Blake is the team's specialist in social philosophy, critical theory, and the theoretical dimensions of sociological and political research. She supports students working across sociology, political science, and related disciplines, helping them engage seriously with theoretical frameworks, from classical sociological thought to contemporary critical perspectives, and apply them meaningfully to their empirical work. Christine has a particular gift for making dense theoretical material feel relevant and energizing, encouraging students to see theory not as an obstacle but as a powerful tool for making sense of the social world. She is also deeply interested in questions of positionality, reflexivity, and the politics of knowledge.
